Proof-of-concept project linking telematics events with relevant dashcam footage to support instructor-led driver review.
Overview
FAIDA built on the AIPTO feasibility study by examining how telematics events and AI dashcam footage could be linked for instructor-led review. The intended workflow allowed an instructor to review selected driving events and supporting footage during pre-brief and post-brief activity.
Objective
To design and test a proof of concept that links driving events to relevant video and makes the resulting evidence usable in an instructor-led training workflow.
Work undertaken
Work included market and technology analysis, user and compliance requirements, system architecture, AI and machine-learning development, event-to-video integration, proof-of-concept implementation and evaluation. The project was a controlled technical step rather than a wide-scale training deployment.
Outputs and findings
Outputs included user and system requirements, architecture, hardware and configuration evidence, an event-to-video proof of concept, pilot observations and exploitation planning. The project established a practical architecture and evidence base while identifying the compliance, data and workflow issues requiring further work.
Contribution to Hodos Media
FAIDA moved TaaSchen from general AI and telematics feasibility into a defined instructor-led training workflow and provided the technical starting point for FleetSkillAI.
