What We Do

Hodos Media plans and delivers applied research and development in transport and mobility. Work normally begins with a defined operational problem or technical uncertainty and progresses through stakeholder research, requirements, technical assessment, prototyping, trials, evaluation and implementation planning.

Project formation and funding

We shape technical concepts into deliverable projects, identify appropriate funding or commissioning routes, develop consortia and define work packages, budgets, risks, outputs and review points.

User needs and requirements

We work with operational users and stakeholders to understand needs, constraints and decision processes. Findings are converted into traceable user and system requirements that can guide architecture, development, validation and acceptance.

Technical feasibility and architecture

We assess the state of the art, compare technical options, define interfaces and data flows, and establish what must be demonstrated before a concept can progress. Architecture work is linked directly to requirements and evidence rather than treated as a standalone design exercise.

Prototypes and trials

We develop and coordinate proof-of-concept systems, controlled tests and operational trials appropriate to the maturity of the technology. Trial plans distinguish between what is being tested, the evidence required and the limitations that remain.

Evaluation and exploitation

Projects conclude with findings, technical limitations, business and operating models, implementation roadmaps and recommendations for the next stage. We retain reusable evidence, methods and assets where ownership and project conditions allow.

Project leadership and delivery

Hodos Media works as project lead, prime contractor, consortium partner or specialist delivery partner. Our contribution can include bid development, project management, partner coordination, reporting, risk control, technical documentation and funder engagement.

Areas of work

Roads and infrastructure

Condition assessment, road-asset information needs, field data capture, maintenance planning and constrained operating environments.

Drivers

Behaviour, competency, training support, instructor review and the responsible use of telematics and video evidence.

Vehicles and tyres

Condition signals, fixed-site inspection, fleet operating context and the relationship between condition, safety and maintenance.

Data and communications

Data capture, traceability, integration, positioning, communications, assurance and decision support across the transport system.
